Dr. Carol Adams, Associate Vice President and Dean, University College at University of North Georgia, will tell us about her exciting career journey and how she landed in Gainesville, Georgia just a few short years ago!
Carol Jackson Adams, Ph.D. is an Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Dean of University College at the University of North Georgia. Prior to assuming that role in June 2015, she served as an Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Extended Campus Administration at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Adams made the transition from faculty member to administration while teaching liberal arts seminars at Ottawa University in Kansas City, Missouri. She has also taught history at Collin College in Plano, Texas, and at Salt Lake Community College.
Dr. Adams earned her doctorate in History at The University of Alabama with a specialization in US Foreign Relations. She earned a Master’s Degree in History, a Master’s in Secondary Education, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Alabama as well.
Dr. Adams currently serves on the Board of Directors of WomenSource and on the Governing Board of the Empower Center in Jackson County. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Braselton. Dr. Adams and her husband Tom attend Grace Episcopal Church in Gainesville. They have two four-legged children, Austin, a black lab mix, and Savannah, a golden retriever mix, who particularly enjoy long walks at Elachee Nature Center on the weekends.
WomenSource Power Breakfast programs are free, regular events that allow women from all backgrounds to have casual conversations over a cup of coffee with leaders in our community, to hear their career story and learn more about how they achieved success.
